Out West

One thing we could not wait to do when we became parents was to spoil our kids with experience.  We are not into spoiling them with material goods… no, no… they have to earn money for the things they desire.  (Side note:  Our son is actually getting close to having enough money to purchase his first car!  You’ll hear more on our philosophy with money and kids later on. :))  But when it comes to experience, we choose to provide and this is why:

We believe the Mark Twain quote on travel to be true when he said, “Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one’s lifetime.”

When it comes to the West… Mother Nature’s awe-inspiring wonder is the gift to be had.  As we descended down through 250+ million years into the Earth’s history, we lost ourselves in it’s overwhelming beauty.  We reminded ourselves how small we are in this great design and we found peace in it’s promise.

Our son, Vincent, made it hard to keep up.  His wild heart and tirelessness for adventure is pure and life-giving.  We’ll never return home a single article of his clothing and we wouldn’t want it any other way.

If you live in the states and haven’t seen your own country, we’ll urge you to add it to your vision board.

Moab, Bryce and Zion,

Thank you for your magic.

love,

T&F

P.S.  A few honorable mentions go to REI Adventures and Moab Under Canvas for helping tp facilitate our adventures.  And also to the Dark Map for leading us to the most breathtaking view the stars we had ever seen.
